Sweet is such ignorance when blind to deceit.
Defeat’s sold as victory to keep us asleep and in chains.

I freeze in disbelief, seeing so many relieved.
How can I hope for those so soundly deceived?

How have we won? What have we done?
What of our sons? What will our earth become?

How can we celebrate when nothing is achieved?
We put in power those who kill us, seeing only slaves.

You should be ashamed!
One more wasted chance to save our fragile world.
Time waits for no one. Ours is nearly burned.
Look at your children; they are who you fail.
Dark is their future, when “less evil” prevails.

Such is the fault of the species; that we so well pretend.
Seeing such folly has me longing for the end.
